Personal Assistant & Household Management in Palm Jumeirah

Palm Jumeirah is one of the most recognisable addresses in the world, and living on it comes with its own rhythm: sea air, a single main approach along the trunk, and homes that often sit empty for weeks while their owners travel.

I look after the practical side of Palm life for residents and absent owners — the villa, the staff, the contractors and the guests — so the home is always ready, whether you are here or not.

    Homes on the Palm

Most households I think about on the Palm fall into two groups. On the fronds, Signature Villas and Garden Homes have private beaches, pools and gardens that face the Gulf directly. On the trunk and the Crescent, residents live in apartment buildings such as the Shoreline Apartments and newer branded residences, where a building management team controls access, lifts and contractors.

The two need very different support. A frond villa is a small estate with its own staff and plant rooms; a trunk apartment is simpler to run but depends on working well with building management.

What seafront living asks of a home

Salt air and humidity are hard on everything. Air-conditioning units, outdoor fixtures, pool equipment, window seals and garden furniture wear faster here than a few kilometres inland. In my experience managing a private household in Dubai, a seafront home needs a maintenance calendar, not a list of repairs.

    • Quarterly AC servicing and coil cleaning, scheduled before the summer peak
    • Pool, pump and filtration checks with a regular contractor
    • Beach and garden upkeep, including irrigation checks during the hot months
    • Corrosion checks on railings, lighting and outdoor metalwork
    • Pest control timed around the humid season

    Absent owners and holiday homes

Many Palm villas and apartments are second homes. When an owner is away, someone needs to run the AC so the home does not build up damp, flush the water systems, collect post and deliveries, and check the property after heavy rain or a power interruption.

Before you fly in, I arrange cleaning, stock the fridge, confirm the staff schedule and make sure the car is serviced and waiting. After you leave, the home is closed down properly.

    Access, guests and deliveries

The Palm has one main road in and out along the trunk, and traffic builds at peak times and around the hotels on the Crescent. For dinners and family visits I plan arrival times, share guest names with security in advance and arrange parking, which is often the tightest part of hosting on a frond.

In apartment buildings, deliveries, furniture and contractors usually need to be registered with building management or the concierge desk first. I handle those permissions so nothing is turned away at the gate.

    Nearby services I coordinate

Day to day, I use what is close: Nakheel Mall and the shops along the trunk for errands, the Golden Mile for quick collections, and the Palm Monorail when it is the simplest way to move guests along the island. For medical appointments, school runs and specialist suppliers, I plan the journey off the island so it does not collide with rush hour on the trunk.
