Concierge Service in Dubai: How to Make a Request That Works

What a lifestyle concierge actually does

A lifestyle concierge is a point of contact for the planning around your day: finding a suitable restaurant, checking event tickets, booking a spa appointment, arranging flowers or coordinating a car. I take the brief, check options with the relevant venue or provider, and come back to you before confirming a booking.

I coordinate these requests; the restaurant, event organiser, spa or transport provider supplies the actual service. A difficult-to-book table or sold-out event cannot be guaranteed. If nothing suitable is available, the useful answer is an honest one, with alternatives if you want them.

Send a brief that avoids back-and-forth

You do not need a formal brief. One WhatsApp message with the essentials is enough to start. For a dinner, tell me the date, preferred time, number of guests, area, dietary needs and a couple of restaurants or the atmosphere you have in mind. For an event, add the exact date, number of tickets, seating preference and maximum spend.

• Number of people and any accessibility or dietary needs
• Preferred area or pickup and drop-off points
• Budget and any firm limit before I approach providers
• What matters most: location, privacy, timing or a specific venue
• The name and contact details to use for the final booking, shared only when needed

For a gift or flowers, the delivery address, recipient's availability and an acceptable alternative if your first choice is out of stock make a difference. For a chauffeur or rental car, include the journey, passengers, luggage and whether you need a child seat. I arrange transport through providers rather than operating cars myself.

Tables, tickets and private experiences

For popular restaurants, I check the requested time and then nearby times or comparable venues if you allow it. Ask what a reservation requires before accepting it: a deposit, minimum spend, cancellation deadline or dress code can change whether the option works for you.

For concerts, sport and Formula 1, the event organiser or ticketing provider controls availability, seating, prices and transfer rules. I share the option and its terms before you approve it; I do not sell tickets or promise access to an event that is sold out.

A private experience, such as a desert dinner, needs the same checks as any other booking: who provides it, what is included, transport, weather arrangements and cancellation terms. Travel and yacht requests are coordinated through partner providers, not supplied directly by SETTRA.

Confirm the cost before anyone books

I reply the same day to acknowledge a request and clarify what I need. That is not a promise that a venue or provider can confirm it on the same day. Once I have an option, I share the price, what is included, any deposit and the cancellation terms for your approval. Availability can change until the provider confirms the booking.

Third-party charges — for example tickets, flowers, transport or a venue deposit — are separate from SETTRA's service packages. I pass those costs on at cost with receipts and no mark-up. You can compare the packages before deciding whether you want one-off or ongoing support.

When the request is last-minute

Tell me the actual deadline and what can change. If the first restaurant is full, a nearby time or another neighbourhood may work. If a particular ticket category is unavailable, I will not substitute a different one without asking. A short list of acceptable alternatives helps me move quickly without making a decision you would rather make yourself.
